As a piece of high concept Sci fi, I thought the original Matrix was a great film. The other two that followed were absolute dogshit, however, and mired the first by association. I watched the original with my son the other day and he loved it. I also thought it has stood the test of time valiantly. This new film looks like it could be either a return to form or just another sorry nail in the franchise coffin. My money is on the latter.
