Gone Girl. I don’t know why I’ve never watched it since I saw it when it came out, because it was and still is fantastic.

Just finished The Banshees of Inisherin which I really enjoyed. Was nice to watch a non Hollywood blockbuster type film for a change.

The cinematography was excellent and its made me want to visit the place in real life (I know its not a real place, but where it was filmed).

Did find the fingers plot a bit random though I must admit

LT42 Dudley from the Harry Potter got skinny as he grew up. He was the fat bully in the family where Harry lived under the stairs.

I had a new colleague the other day ask me “Do you like Harry Potter?”

I said “I’m sorry, I don’t really”

She said “Oh, I thought all British people loved Harry Potter.” 😖

No love, unbelievably some of us adults in the country that gave us the likes of Auden and Amis actually have some discerning taste.

LT42 I watched two of them on a BA long haul flight.

Basically because there is fuck all but shite like ‘Best of British’ (Mr Bean, Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses) plus some utterly gash other movies.

Basically, don’t bother unless you’ve got nothing better to do.

After seeing it mentioned here a few times I decided to watch Heat for the first time this evening.

Loved it to be honest. Great story, acting and I was engaged throughout. I hadn’t realised how many things that GTA 5 stole from it lol. Glad I watched.

Remind me the next time I’m in LA to go for a jog across the main runway at LAX (that part was a bit random)

Labelled as a gangster era type film on sky but wasn’t what i was expecting. Turned out to be quite an enjoyable film.

Worth 90 mins of your time. A solid enough 7.75 out of 10.

Sexy Beast. I don’t know how I’ve never seen this before. Winstone and Kingsley are both outstanding in it.

Georgetown: Christoph Waltz in the lead and directing… based on a true story. Maybe a tad bit slow and ploddy, but it’s definitely a creepy watch. The acting is good, makes it worth watching. Not entirely sure about the plot, standard true crime fodder. 7.3 / 10

Nomadland

A very bleak but thought provoking film, which I did enjoy. The sheer vastness of America has always fascinated me, and to see all the drifters etc and realise they they are real and there’s so many of them.

The monologue from Swankie was very heartfelt as well.

Message I took away was that it’s possible to enjoy, what society perceives as, a shitty life once you’re free of conventional ‘constraints’.
