RichM C_J it made me really wish I had the balls to give everything up and live a simple life like that. Fair play to that community, living an uncomplicated and free life.
RichM vinnyt77 am watching this again tonight. Such a great film, Ben Kingsley is so good in it. Cracking soundtrack too
gcw Mad_Cyril can see that’s one side, but they all looked like although they were ‘free’ they were also struggling to keep warm and fed
Cankles-McJeggings rhouses she’s locked in to the marriage for another 18 years - at the very least. How come? Will she get honour killed otherwise?
gcw Event Horizon After hearing so much about this film it was actually a let down. Can’t help feeling it could have been a bit better. 4 gouged eyes out of 10
LT42 gcw there’s a severe lack of proper horror in space movies, I think that’s why it gets so much love.
Amps gcw Yeah, needed to be seen in context at the time I reckon. Went to see it without knowing much about it and the trailer never really conveyed the horror of it all. Proper surprised by it, hence the love for it.
gcw LT42 they just didn’t dwell on it though. The scene where Miller saves Starck from decompression, he just gets up and goes all serious again. There’s no horror, panicking etc it’s just "ok we’ve just seen a load of our mates die, what a shame, let’s get to the bridge '
Along_the_Wire I managed about half an hour of Death Race 2000 before I turned it off. Remember watching it as a kid and obviously loved it - tits, cars, death etc - what’s not to like? Now, it is so, so bad it’s almost watchable, but just couldn’t do it. ⅒
Jules72 Tar - took me a while to come down to planet earth walking into this film after Man Utd’s victory….about a composer whose life starts to unravel. Kate Blanchett (in every scene pretty much) is a dead cert for best actress… thematically I didn’t expect to enjoy this film as much as I did - would think it will be in many peoples’ lists of favourite films of 2023. 8.5/10
Along_the_Wire Watched White Noise (Netflix) last night - not 100% sure what to make of it or really what it was all about, but enjoyed it nonetheless. The misses was mithering about it through the whole film, which really got on my tits. 7/10
Dan Watched Whiplash for the second time as my stepson is a budding musician (it actually might put him off tbh) still love that film. 8/10 cowbells
Homegrove Watched The Firm for the first time ever tonight. A bit too long, and the music felt out of place (I kept thinking is this the soundtrack for when Harry Met Sally?) but quite enjoyed it.
gcw Watched Beverly Hills Cop last night on freeview, for prob the 100th time. Such a great movie, Eddie Murphy made some great films didnt he
