The Tree of Life (2011). More Terrence Malick. Also a first watch. One of the most beautifully shot movies ever surely. People seem to think it’s amazing, or a big pile of pretentious shit. I think it’s amazing, though I can understand the latter opinion very well. Jessica Chastain in this is the most beautiful woman to have ever lived.
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1968). New Arrow Video 4K Blu ray, I watched the extended cut without the grotto-scene (one of three different cuts on this release), aka the closest thing to the Italian Theatrical Cut. Looks and sounds amazing thanks to a brand new scan and remastered original mono audio-track. The final copy I will ever buy of this movie.
Eli Wallach as Tuco is one of the best characters in movie history. He is so good in this, mostly he’s just so funny, but then there’s the scene with his brother, and the way he lies about it to Blondie which brings so much depth to the rascal.
