The Crime is Mine - great reviews for this French film and was intrigued. It was a farce and I discovered whilst watching this that I don’t like a farce - bobbins all round. 2/10

Wild Things - awful soundtrack, daft plot with a ton of plot holes in it - Matt Dillon does classic Matt Dillon. Still, very enjoyable and gets a 7/10

Sunset Boulevard - some really hammy acting, one of them obviously intentional, but you get over that and this is a great film, rolls along at a fair old lick. 9/10

The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996).
Arrow Video released this on 4K Blu ray way earlier this year, but I sat on it waiting for the Christmas season. Somehow I’ve never seen this before. At times painfully 90s but I liked it a lot. Geena Davis is really good in it, pioneering the way for female action stars of today. I guess the world wasn’t ready for that yet back then.
Samuel L. Jackson thinks very fondly of this, and no wonder, he’s really good in it.
Good purchase, I’m definitely adding this to my Christmas-movie rotation.

Homegrove watched this last night. It was sort of good, funny and shit all at the same time, but I liked it. Geena Davis is excellent and Samuel L Jackson is still cashing in on Pulp Fiction. 6.5/10

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992). I already had the 25th anniversary 4K Blu ray, but I sold it and bought the 30th anniversary 4K Blu ray steelbook, because it had the original theatrical stereo audio track. This collecting hobby is a sickness lol.
Just a great experience watching this again (with the original audio this time). I do most years, and I never get tired of it. There is so MUCH in this movie you always discover something new. One of my all time favorite movies with all it’s faults (Keanu Reeves).

In any case it’s a wonderfully over the top super horny version of the old tale with amazing sets and costumes, cool practical in camera effects, terrific score and Oldman is off the chain.

The Wages of Fear (1953). Film education night at Casa De Homegrove while the missus is at her company’s Christmas party. One of those movies where I HAD to buy it on disc to watch legally, as it’s not streaming anywhere, even for rental. But the BFI Blu ray is very nice and well done, and cost me only 13 €, which I now consider money well spent.

The Sorcerer is better, but it might be just because film making at that point had progressed for over twenty years to tell this story. But yeah, this is still pretty amazing. Also compared to the Hollywood-stuff of the time the French had zero fucks to give.
