C_J I would put Tenet up there with the worst films I’ve ever seen. I had two proper goes at it and couldn’t get beyond the halfway mark.

I found the problem was it made no sense e.g. Why aren’t they talking backwards with subtitles/ How can they see if light moves away from their eyes? If blood flow is reversed through their lungs giving them oxygen won’t save them etc.- unlike Interstellar where the premise was feasible. I saw it in the Imax and about 2/3rds of the way through started treating it like a Fantasy genre film instead of Sci-Fi. Then it was mildly watchable, but definitely the least enjoyable iMAX experience I’ve had.

Nolan had a great run, he was bound to release a turd at some point. Didn’t like it either.

WarGames is on C4. One of the first films I saw at the cinema and thought it was incredible. Not looking so good now, if I’m honest.

Wasily yeah it made no sense to me either but necessarily for the conceptual reasons you highlights. For me it was more about the way it was put together. The editing. The casting. There was no flow. It was just a series of boring, pointless, disconnected scenes.

Homegrove One classic that is not available on any streaming service

You can add “Pump Up The Volume to that”. They cannot clear the soundtrack. Apparently nobody really knows who owns what. Lost to the ether.

Leon…90’s Jean Luc Besson film about a hit man befriended by a 12 year old, whose family has been killed by corrupt police officers. Bordering on suggestion of paedophilia at times, but stays onside…. and is otherwise a touching and quirky watch. Not too sure a director would get away with a film with these undertones these days though. 8/10

Surely everyone’s seen Leon? That’s a basic requirement to post in this thread

I watched a film called ‘Star Wars’. Decent film with some good special effects for the time. Quite a complex plot about a father ina fetish suit who tries to get his son, Luke, to take over the family business. There’s this wise cracking chap in a spaceship who has a pet bear and he tries to stop Luke having sex with his sister. One of those films you have to see for yourself really.

I watched a jolly old romp called ‘A Serbian Film’….

Leon is fine as long as you only watch the theatrical version. Director’s cut gets problematic when you know the director has a habit of ditching girlfriends, wifes, and upgrading to a younger model (literally) when the current one gets too old.

Batman v Superman The Ultimate Edition. This adds 30 minutes to the theatrical version, and it’s only second to Kingdom of Heaven to studios losing all motivation for characters in a movie by forcing the director to cut the movie shorter. Suddenly (most) of the movie made sense, and the antagonism between the biggest guys in the DC universe.

Mostly it was still a shit movie.

Getting into Justice League (Snyder Cut) tomorrow. No way we’re watching it all at one sitting.

Along_the_Wire Sorry boss! Saw it years ago of course but was another film I’ve gone back to….

Which other Besson films are must-watches btw?

              Justice League…..utter dross
