Watched Extraction following CJ’s recommendation and a bit of desperation. Was actually quite good. Definitely better than expected given the majority of Netflix’s film output seem to be a disappointment. Impressive fight scenes for sure if that’s your thing.

watched midsommar and lighthouse yesterday. midsommar was pretty disappointing after hearing good things; visually well done, but the rest was pretty flat. lighthouse was ok, definitely had to turn the subtitles on to follow the dialogue. i’ve seen worse, wouldn’t watch it again.

Fan of Wes Anderson but this is not him at his best IMO. It’s like the plodding movie version of 2001 era prog. Has all the elements (good cast, well shot), but when Tocharian “Lacuna” is the highlight, it’s a problem.

Very fair. I had the issue of going into it as an Anderson stan after Rushmore and Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic (which I was a bit perplexed by initially, but have grown to like).

Expectation is the mother of disappointment, afterall.

Thought “Moonrise Kingdom” was incredible.

Apollo 11. Incredible. The quality of footage, the way it was all put together. 9/10. Docked a mark because it was over too quick.
