Along_the_Wire Yeah, every time I scroll passed it on Netflix I always stop and hover over play. I wish I never saw it and could dive in for the first time again.

Yeah it’s frustrating how they don’t make dialogue and ensemble-driven dramas anymore. Was watching Oceans 12 the other day. Really strange film. Far too self-aware and all the inside jokes make for an odd watch. But I enjoyed it. Not a chance that gets made today. Same with Seven and Gone Girl (lol). They’re just TV shows now. Which is fine, I guess. But I appreciate the tightness of a movie. 120 minutes means editing matters. Some of these Netflix and HBO shows, while good, are often way too long.

segwin Wasn’t it the same guys who did the opening credits for Se7en did the visuals for Delta Heavy?

Along_the_Wire aye. I remember watching it on the opening weekend in an absolutely packed cinema, no one dared make a sound for the duration it was brilliant

        Thoughts on “Gone Girl”, Sneds?

Like I said earlier, I think it’s my fav film from him but maybe I’m just being contrarian without realizing it. I’m not saying it’s his best, mind.

SM001 Yeah, I’m pretty sure Jimmy Van M was the go-between

You’re listening to a lot of long ramblings from the psychopaths in Mindhunter and some of those guys were pretty obscure too. A quick read between the episodes was helpful, but also made it a lot more sinister too.

Gone Girl was ok… nothing compared to Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac. Rosemund Pike is great in it. Social Network was decent, but I can’t stand Aaron Sorkin - ruined it for me.

rhouses I have the same feeling for Jesse Isenberg. I don’t think he had to act too much in that film tbh

Saw Tenet yesterday at a Curzon (just 6 people in the auditorium…. how on earth are they going to survive?)…. thought it was technically impressive and clever.. didn’t have the dialogue problems others were complaining about and was surprised that I did actually understand a fair amount of the film, though didn’t get why everyone was going back and forth in time (perhaps I understood less than I thought then)… a solid 7 or 8 out of 10…. not a classic but I’d definitely recommend going to see it.

Watched The Prestige last night. Two hours too long that film - load of ol’ shite. Bale’s cockney shit grated something awful. 4/10 and I’m being kind.

Tenet explained… ties up a lot of loose ends..

Jules72 Oh good, I love a movie where I have to watch a 20min Youtube video after explaining the fucking thing to me.
