Wally If WB have got any sense at all, they’ll push Dune back to next year.

From a completely selfish viewpoint I hope not. I love a big movie in December.

Homegrove True and same - but this one is only 2/3rd of the ‘Dune’ book and any more movies are entirely dependant on this one doing well. Given it’s a hard(-ish) sci fi movie with limited mass appeal, I think it’s commercial suicide to release it at the moment.

Don’t get too excited about the trailer btw - it leaked the other day - it’s just a mood setting teaser rather than anything substantial.

First Dune film is tons of fun, Lynch having a laugh, what’s not to like?

Amps It was really, really boring. Admittedly, I watched it on video when I was 15 or 16, but I’m not prepared to sit through it to check whether I’m wrong.

Actually, I seem to recall there’s two versions of the trailer - a 60 sec one for the flicks (which was leaked) and this one which had a bit more to it - me talking shite again. Quelle surpris’ eh?

Watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles with the daughter…. apart from some scattered use of the word Fuck, great family entertainment - John Candy and Steve Martin are superb….some classic scenes.

LT42 Kinda - this one is the first 2/3rd of the book. If it’s a success, they have everyone signed up to do another one. if it’s a flop (which it will be), they won’t.
