Millsy McCarthy is an incredible writer. He can pack more imagery in a paragraph that most writers couldn’t in a whole chapter. Vincent D’Onofrio was always mentioned for The Judge with Paul Thomas Anderson to direct.
I don’t think it’s unfilmable. I think studio’s are put off by the violence of it.

Classic film with the kids - One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Not seen it for 30 years - sublime. Acting is off the charts from across the board - had no idea the short nutter was Danny Devito. Smashes into my all-time top 10.

Watch Forrest Gump with the kids this afternoon.. winced a bit with limbs blown off during the bit in Vietnam and some of the sex references (my kids are 6 and 8) … but otherwise top entertainment.

Along_the_Wire The film’s on our list to watch - as Vicki’s never seen it, and want her to see the movie before we dive in to Ratched… Not sure how it’ll turn out TBH. Big part of me just wants it left alone, but am a big fan of Sarah Paulson, and wanna see what she makes of the role.

vinnyt77 Ratched is good but the use of the music out of Cape Fear kinda sours it a bit for me. I just see Max Cady in his flowery shirt and sailor cap every time.

Apparently our man Fincher was all on board with doing a Spider Man flick (well before all the MCU blew up) where Peter Parker was a 50 year old Spider Man and a total weirdo, still working as a photographer.

jonattonyeah I know what you’re saying but the lack of chemistry between him and Stone in Casino is the whole point (a marriage of convenience for Ginger) and it works to perfection imo.

Juliette Lewis is a bit marmite for some but she’s great in it.

Watched “Devil All The Time” last night. Not really sure what to make of it honestly. It’s just a series of really awful things happening one after another, and I’m not sure what the point of it was, except to point out that life is/was really shitty in poor, backwoods communities. However, I couldn’t stop watching, because it was interesting to see how all the story lines tied together. I’ll probably watch it again to see if I can pick up any nuances the second time around. 6/10

My son has asked to watch “Aquaman” this evening. Now I know some people on here don’t like comic book super hero movies but I think you’ll all agree that it is literally the most perfect film ever committed to celluloid and transcends the medium to achieve an 11/10 score that no other film could ever hope to match.
