Some good albums out today!
Two listens under my belt and The First Two Pages of Frankenstein is an amazing album if you love melancholic indie rock like I do. Name another band like The National that’s been around for 20+ years and still they get better with each album.
A very enjoyable listen!
Homegrove They’re good but they haven’t got better over time and they haven’t taken any risks with their sound unlike Radiohead who followed the Bends with OK Computer and KId A. All timeless classics and all very different. Nothing the National have done since is as good or as fresh as Alligator or Boxer.

Great live band though and have got tickets for Ally Pally. Trouble will find me is probably my fave album of theirs besides those two. Will give it a listen over the weekend
alistair the thought that they haven’t really switched up their sound since Trouble Will Find Me did cross my mind also while listening to this, but while their songwriting remains at this level I don’t really have a problem with it. Sleep Well Beast is my favorite album, but this mind triumph that given time.
Tim Green Balance out today
Dubman sounds like 1997 that!
