Kells77 Dubman Yeah, there were about 30 of us….aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. We don’t really get together like the anymore 🙁
jonattonyeah Kells77 Sounds excellent, Kels. Good to know we have other members with fine and varied culinary Christmas dinner preferences that extend beyond jumbo poultry.
-si- jonattonyeah Good to know we have other members with fine and varied culinary Christmas dinner preferences that extend beyond jumbo poultry. You’re definitely not happy about lamb-gate, jy!
Dubman Kells77 I do miss those large family get togethers. But now all my family has broken up. My Nan would do the same although she wasn’t a great cook but she managed to cook for about 15 people in a tiny kitchen.
Kells77 Dubman I do too. I haven’t seen most of my cousins in probably 10 years. 🙁 I mean, on Facebook, sure, but not like that. There must be something in the granny manual about having tiny kitchens lol….my grandma’s kitchen was pretty small too 🙂
Dubman Kells77 It’s weird. We were all very close as kids but now we all live our own separate lives. I do see a few family members but it’s just for work these days.
-si- We have mash and roasties on the xmas dinner plate, hursty. Millsy had an angina attack when he heard that for the first time. And i’m northern irish so only half irish. I can only imagine the amount of spud variations the mexicans over the border in the republic have in each of their three courses!
Mad_Cyril bosstrabs Lamb? Beef? What the fucks going on here then? Is Lamb the go to there? What the piss is Groundwater on about? Dave clearly still seething @ the runaway success of JTY’s ranking threads
jonattonyeah Mad_Cyril Dave clearly still seething @ the runaway success of JTY’s ranking threads BT’s been a solid RANKINGS supporter from the start. His fine taste in essential mixes and Ed-bashing bants far exceed his uncreative Christmas Dinner choices and, you know, I’m okay with that. And Dave… Gammon. Coleman’s. Lyle’s Golden. Cannot blame that on us Septics.
seanc80 Roast & Mash potatoes on Christmas Day in Comer Towers. Other names that are first on the team sheet are Sausage meat stuffing with loads of butter and onion. Sprouts of some incarnation Cranberry Gravy. Baked ham with honey and cloves. (Did a coca cola ham a few years ago whish was also nice) Roast free range organic turkey
Kells77 seanc80 My mom makes a ham with cloves in it as well. Scores the outside and places the cloves at the cross sections, then slathers the rest of the outside with dijon mustard and brown sugar. While it’s cooking, she bastes it with apple juice. It’s always amazing.
