NasserAlazzawi Deep house is pretty close, but that’s why i say the debate is pointless. There’s too much crossover in a lot of records and places like beatport have bastardized “classic” genres so badly, that none of it makes sense anymore.

Most of what I make is inarguably dub techno. But I would be hard pressed to figure out what is techno about a 108 bpm record that’s mixed with a low passed kick, few drums, and the chords set forward. Basic Channel was techno, Maurizio probably, but Fluxion or Rhythm & Sound?

hugopal I was saying your face is straining so much I’m concerned. You are of no help, you just want to argue and oppose and that sadly seems to be your life.

Amps I’ll have to go look, I had a double vinyl pack with 4 mixes, I think I played the original pitched down quite a bit and the pmt(?) mix maybe (heavier break beats if I remember correctly). I’ll take a look this afternoon and see if I can find it.

  • Amps replied to this.

303abuser I had a very prog mix of it I used on the beginning of a mix (c90) at some point, and yeah, it was okay, but, i dunno. In hindsight, I think others did that sound better.

Amps I’m sure the vocal carried it for me, I loved it from the first time I heard it. Danny Howells put it on NF3(I think? My memory is shit) and I thought it was well placed in that mix.

edit: i’ve got the original, 16b, 3am, and pmt mixes. i probably played them all, but the original pitched down is where it’s at

Hursty totally forgot about this track and it’s completely stuck in my head now. I need a replacement!

I was just cleaning up the music downloads on my iPhone and gave Tom Mangan - Chutney (Size 9 Reinterpretation) a listen. Tears the roof off.

alistair Good call for the original. The Gardner mix is a monster as well.

Fuck Max Graham, who threw a hissy fit when I told him he was a bit trancey in an interview.

        LOL. Full deets please, Rhouses

Old-Dutch haha. It was all over email, not a face to face. Added a question about how he was a prog legend but was now playing heavy trance sets, and if that was a bit of a bandwagon jump, alluding it might have been more lucrative for him. Got really snide over email and refused to answer the rest of the questions.
