Matt I had to fly back from holiday for a major work issue - did the meeting, went home and played Gear of War MP for 6 hours straight and nailed the three bottles. Had to get a 7am flight back to Nice the next morning and it was a horror show.

Really all depends on what you like. I’m a big fan of new world wine - proper full bodied power 14.5% shiraz / syrah types . Not a fan of subtle wines at all really. Virgin Wines is fucking excellent value - especially once you get assigned a dealer who can do you better deals than the on site. Currently drinking this, which is amazing for the price.

A mate bought me a membership of the Wine Society as a birthday present a few years back - one of the best presents I’ve ever been bought. Whatever your tastes and price range, the selection is astounding. I used to use the likes of Virgin, Laithwaites, Naked Wines etc - but just found the ranges a little safe and repetitive.

More of a new world than old drinker. For every French / Italian / Spanish wine I find that I love, I have one that I find underwhelming. I tend to find more consistency in South Africa, Australia, Chile, New Zealand, the US etc.

vinnyt77 been a member for a long time, it’s excellent and always cheaper than everywhere else.

I can’t stand new world and / or full-bodied reds or anything light. I’m fussy too, I basically like Rioja, Bordeaux and Tuscan wines. Plenty of variety in that lot, especially Tuscany. I know a lot about those wines.

Got some absolute belters lined up for my 50th.

Dutchy’s right though, it’s all about personal taste.
