Hursty What do you think he’s on Grant? Usual?
Pog’s on the Bronson?
Smallman1 Lol, more likely some sort of blood doping
Yes, Cav! What a race. Quick Step were immense for the last 20km.
Two more for the record. Fuck me. Ventoux tomorrow. I’ve did all three ascents of Ventoux in on day in 2019. Horrific.
Been up ventoux three times, but not done all three ascents. On my to do list to get back and grind it up there again.
Hursty not sure. Cav appears to be doing OK against his competition (granted hes not racing against Bennett or ewan). Roglic is also no spring chicken.
apyssjw Roglic is also no spring chicken
Roglic is out of the Tour and he was never a sprinter.
I will be watching live tomorrow, then the England game, as Ed would say, what a time to be alive!
Along_the_Wire cf hurstys comment about youth taking over as a general rule.
apyssjw gotcha. You don’t peak in cycling til your late 20s and early 30s, like most sports. Roglic is 31

Bang on it.
Some ride from Alaphilippe up to now, absolute beast.
Grant, fair play for doing these climbs, beautiful but fuck me does it look tough.
FULL KIT WANKERS
He is human
Van Aert was unbelievable to be fair. The mental strength needed to go up to the top of that mountain and then do it all again a half hour later! So impressive.
LT42 The first ascent is actually pretty easy apart from the last few kms. From Bedouin, it’s different gravy - straight roads 10-14%
Along_the_Wire It got the better of Pogacar too, I didn’t think I’d see it after he stuck to Vengegaard’s wheel when he started to break away. O’Connor did well to claw his way back, he was going in reverse at one point.
I don’t remember the pace of the Tour being this high before, is it normal for road races now? Soon as the flag waved they were off!
LT42 yup, speeds have stabilised for a while now - attacks from the off are common and if anyone is in the attack that’s a competitor for a jersey, the appropriate team or teams chase hard.
Stunning scenery during today’s race so far. A cycle through those towns is on the bucket list.
