Along_the_Wire As an armchair fan I don’t understand the tactical aspect enough, it adds to the fascination I suppose. VDP looks like he’s on a mission tbf and Pogacar won’t let the same happen tomorrow, you’d think.

LT42 The tactics are fantastic and a great part of the sport. Having raced a lot, I know just how fucking hard and painful a lot of it is - attacking and bridging over are deadly. Not many tactics in the amateur game mind, you’re kind of on your own - team tactics in the pros are mental.

Along_the_Wire I love it anyway, as I mentioned before the sportsmanship and team work is second to none. The effort and workrate is astonishing also of course, its mind boggling to think they’ll go out and do 150k tomorrow on those mountains after that effort today, and still a long way to go. Inspiring stuff.

Impressive ride from Poels so far, you’d have to have a fairly calm mind to be out there that long on your own

The pain of it all. Col de Romme is one of the hardest climbs I’ve ever done - it was at the end of a long day, but fuck me it’s steep.

LT42 I suspect drugs here, which is a shame - his TT performance was ridiculous, as is this. I hope he isn’t, this is an incredible performance here - he’ll probably win and will certainly be in yellow.

See how he does tomorrow. May have been saving it for today but that was something else. He looked very comfortable doing it. But Froome did that 80km break once. All in the planning.

Did col du colombiere for the 2016 etape and it’s special to watch them go over the same hill (although in the opposite direction!)

I love watching Pogacar but it’s a shame no one is anywhere near him this year to put the pressure on. He’s going to smoke everyone on every climb yet to come, there is no doubt.

Perhaps Bernal maybe up to it next year?
