Homegrove of course, I hear ya. Goes without saying really barring one or two birdbrains.

Hursty End January… I’d say more like mid January… the coalface beckons lads

alistair So basically, if you’re a young person of colour, living in a city and from an economically deprived background, you’re an Omicron hotbed?

Jules72 Tropple quad vaxxed and ready for the next Fabric gig front and centre 🤟

Yer ma’s an anti-vaxxer and calls herself Mrs. Doubtpfizer

vinnyt77 what struck me was how booster resistant the omicron variant appears to be so far (but then they do take time to kick in)

alistair Yeah - think there was a disclaimer on timing / efficacy of boosters towards the bottom of the summary. Might be an artefact of the double vax + booster combo being so powerful against Delta, that Omicron is the only variant of note/risk?

Booster jab done this morning. Really hope no side effects as I got to do the Xmas dinner tomorrow lunchtime.

Got to say I have an issue using boosters that were designed for the original strain… there is clearly a big drop in efficacy and boosters apparently will only last 2-3 months before protection drops off substantially… we can take these vaccines every month at an extreme but that of course is unlikely to be healthy… much better to get these vaccines modified for the current strains so we only have to take them once a year

RichM I had the Pfizer vaccine for my booster. Dead arm for a coupla days, and had a really weird fever/shakes episode in the middle of the night - about 15 hours after I had the jab. Lasted 4-5 hours, then was fine again. First two jabs were AZ… 👍

I got slaughtered on here for mentioning the 3 months efficacy, Israel already have the 4th booster lined up now. My hope is for Omicron to be the journey to the end of all this we have so many anti viral drugs coming and potentially a single dose vaccine, which i would be more than happy to take instead of 3 or 4 a year.

I’d take a jab a month if it meant I could continue to ledge it al the coalface.

Jules72 Yes and no IMO. If they provide some short term protection against this variant that we all hope is gonna be the last major variant of the pandemic, then have at it.

                  Not long-term sustainable/sensible though…

Jules72 two AZ and a Pfizer is 70% and you’re highly protected against serious illness. More than happy with that for now.

Funky My hope is for Omicron to be the journey to the end of all this we have so many anti viral drugs coming and potentially a single dose vaccine

Until then, I’m happy with jabs. Why wouldn’t you be?

vinnyt77 yeah agreed - if this is the last one…

Interesting question though is who decides the new modified boosters should be produced? It won’t be the pharmas because they stand to make more money from vaccines that are used as regularly as possible… so I guess governments would have to tell them they won’t purchase their vaccine unless they’re modified

Along_the_Wire If your needing 3 or 4 a year in-between the efficiency waning between each dose that just isn’t good enough is it leaves to much room for issues. A single dose just like flu jab sounds way more efficient to me or even better a covid pill prescribed to anyone who catches covid that would sort so many issues including stupid mandates and hospitals filling up, covid pills will be very important going forward and esp might sort the anti vax issue.
