A lol for Dave.
The General Covid19 Thread
Nah, very much taking the Runcorn Dave approach here, staying in (quite happy to), and having stuff delivered where possible.
Saw a few before and after Covid shots of people last week, it proper fucks you over, not interested in that here. No neck gym heads looking like pow casualties. Swerve.
In regard to the protest marches in London and Birmingham this week, why has no reference been made to the fact that nobody at these events is social distancing or abiding by the guidelines re: the number of people that can meet in one place.
Have read two news reports on it, and neither has any reference to people breaking the lockdown rules.
I fully support the message of the protests but how can such massive volumes of people just meet up without any intervention?
UK economy shrinks 20% in April, that is a serious statistic!
Grim but not surprising.
The US saw a spike in cases yesterday, 21k new cases since Wednesday. What an explosive fiasco that place is right now.
Hursty The Guardian is reporting it like it’s the end of the world - their ad revenues are down over 50%, it shouldn’t have been any kind of shock at all.

Fucking bizarre isn’t it? I’m at the end of my tether with the press and social media.
Shut everything down, the economy shrinks. Shocker!!
Do fuck off and try do something constructive
I used to be a loyal Guardian reader, but the last 6 months, it’s been a steaming pile of shite. It’s a very enraging read these days.
Along_the_Wire it’s not woke enough for you now, or?
hugopal Fuck off, Hugo you boring cunt.
I sincerely don’t mean to gloat, but this will come out as such, no doubt.
I’m sorry for people in countries like UK who still have so much of lockdown-stuff ahead of you, because you didn’t shut down properly in March. Our goverment couldn’t have done a better job. Apart from night clubs things are back to almost normal. Sporting events will also continue in two weeks.
That said Finland had a huge leverage in being about a month behind countries like Italy and Spain. There was a lot to learn what not to do.
Homegrove The UK is a global embarrassment, that’s for sure.
I always used to ‘take the Guardian’ as one who is not necessarily staunchly left-wing would say, to avoid being pejoratively stereotyped a ‘Guardian reader’. I still do actually, but read The Economist as well (which is its own myopic idealistic worldview too at times, albeit a slightly different one, seeming to believe that unfettered global trade and free markets are the answer to every problem)
Regarding The Guardian, it has disappeared into a hole of ridiculousness. This was peak Guardian…

bosstrabs It’s has become a joke. It seems to always be finding a hyperbolic angle where one doesn’t need to be ie if covid deaths are low, it barely gets a mention and instead focussed on total deaths passing 40,000. Fucking winds me up
Dubman Did you go full lockdown or did you follow Sweden’s model?
Not even close to full. But all schools, libraries, museums etc closed, everyone who could worked from home, the Helsinki-region was locked from the rest of the country for two weeks, and bars and restaurants closed for two months. Take out and deliveries was allowed though.
