Got word this morning that for those of 100% “activated” (meaning we’re not doing our normal responsibilities, just COVID work) can expect to not be back to usual duties for another 12 to 18 months. Brutal. This is going to be a long slog, my friends.

jonattonyeah oh of course it is. Our Governor and Lieutenant Governor, who have both done an excellent job of managing covid in Pa, have removed “get back to normal” from their messaging recently. Think its pretty obvious why the would do that.

bosstrabs I’ve had more than most due to my previous career but that was mandatory.

Just saying I’m not keen on getting jabbed up when there are a lot of questions to be answered regarding Covid.

Granted, if it’s a prerequisite for entry to the next Bedrock, I’ll be down the local GP surgery quick sharp 😂

Yeah I wish. Don’t even get overtime or hazard pay. I do get 8 hours of vacation for every 40 hours worked, so shouldn’t complain too much. But, yeah, a month or so in Sayulita sounds nice right about now.

By the end we were arguing about everything.

But do you know what, I think we’ll end up being friends, she’s a top bird and we got on brilliantly for the first 6 months.

I’m good friends with her brother so will definitely see her again.

Yeah that’s the perk for being COVID activated. But that means I gotta ride the subway six days a week, gotta be in the field or SF General; just generally in harms way. But I guess that doesn’t matter anymore given I already had the stupid bug.

jonattonyeah Well on the balance, I guess that’s not a very fair compensation after all. I don’t accrue any time off (since I’m a contractor) but I don’t think I’d take your deal if offered.

And to be fair, you can be re-infected, so it does still matter. Plus, no one knows the long term effects of this, so it really does matter.
