I must admit, I do prefer the positive stuff to the negative stuff - that podcast was a breath of fresh air - I get we don’t know anything for certain, but there does appear to some substance to those claims.

Along_the_Wire I think the point alot of scientists are stressing right now is that there’s plenty of counter claims to the claims, that’s just how science works, especially in the infancy of research. Even if a vaccine does get produced within the next 12 months that’s still about 5 years faster than the normal schedule, plus it’s probably the first time in modern history that the public is privvy to research in real time, with a virus that’s relatively new. Add in social media and there’s a wealth of info out there that seems to change almost weekly.

Navigated my way back to New York from being in the UK for 4 months. A surreal experience. About 30 people on the flight. A lot of people with a full on plastic face visors AND face masks. Health screening upon arrival. Now stuck in quaranteen for 2 weeks. Cant see that being too appealing to tourists once they stock any restrictions.

LT42 ive heard from multiple (reliable I expect) sources that there will be a vaccine year end… anyway as Grant says I’ll take the positive spin.

Having said that, given we are 2-3 weeks behind the continent I think it’s pretty obvious a spike is imminent. Really feel sorry for the businesses in the City - they’re looking screwed even without that second wave

The Guardian has been going fucking mental about huge spikes in China and Belgium today - China had a whopping 61 new confirmed cases and Belgium 300. The hyperbole will kill me before the virus.
