All arrivals into the UK now need a PCR test and must self isolate until negative result is returned. This really fucks things for me.

alistair Yup. Back to a version of the previous arrivals rules. You should be able to get a PCR test on arrival at the airport, and will then need to self-isolate (but can be at home) until the result is returned. Hopefully no more than 24 hours…

And that’s irrespective of vaccinated status.

Pain in the ass, but I think is a sensible move at this fairly early stage…

Yup, booked my T5 arrival test for 28th December. Otherwise I am fucked for work. And I feel quite strongly that I should not be missing any work to go on holiday

Although to be fair, I’m happy to pay and get it done when I arrive at LHR so I only have to isolate for that day.

They still take a few days. Even assuming you do it correctly. PCR requires lab testing. Antigen rapid is fine but it is not PCR. If a company is selling rapid PCR I would have some questions.

jonattonyeah standard is 24 hours over here - you can get same day and 6 hour from the same reputable sources. Mind for this mess I’m in was under three hours

Can I ask, did you have a rapid antigen positive first and then a confirmatory PCR? Because we prioritize those who had a antigen positive first. But the idea of a 15 minute PCR is impossible. That said, a three hour turnaround is solid. Good job by them. Proper Disc 2 work.
