and yet Germany are shutting nightclubs again, including for vaccinated people, based purely on case numbers as the yardstick; any excuse.

Jules72 not with the types of people who’d be vaccinated and going clubbing.

Also the 7 day incidence for hospitalisations in Berlin is only on the so-called ‘yellow’ traffic light.

Jules72 they are always full up. They are not currently full of covid.

Covid survival rate globally as of 9th September 2021 98.39% no doubt closer to 99% due to vaccine and anti viral drugs now, Hepatitis A is more deadly.

As Homegrove stated 2-4 years usually for a pandemic if you would call it that. Hopefully mid 2023 it done and dusted and no more unnecessary authoritarianism and mandates I really hope.

hugopal German hospitals are overflowing in some parts of the country and aren’t in others… according to my German colleague this is leading to the sick being flown from one part of the country to the other… don’t pick out Berlin to prove your case - youre talking out of your behind

Dangerous beer that. Very dangerous. A spot by me sells those tall boys for 3$.

Covid means no Christmas work do again this year, so it’s got its plus side.

Had my booster yesterday, Moderna. Feel a bit shit today, worse then my previous two AZ jabs.

Homegrove The usual length of a pandemic is 2-4 years.

But this is a man made pandemic that falls into the highly unusual category and will be here for ever and ever.

It’s not just “picking out Berlin to prove my case” - many of the covid restrictions, including those on clubs, are literally being decided based on the infection rates in the respective individual federal states, of which Berlin is one federal state.

Federal states with a higher infection rate have stricter restrictions imposed on their clubs (forced closure from next week in states where the infection rate is above 350 per 100,000; Berlin is currently at 360, while the national average is a bit higher at about 440).

One of the strange things is that they’re basing the restrictions on clubs in each federal state on new cases in the state and not on the hospitalisation rate in the state. That was the thrust of my comment.

I also specifically mentioned Berlin because it’s where I live (plus it’s also where most the big clubs are) and also the federal government set the threshold of cases for having to close clubs at a relatively low number which as per the numbers mentioned above conveniently just about included Berlin.

Had they actually based the cut-off points on hospitalisations, rather than cases, then Berlin has a relatively low hospitalisation rate right now (hence the yellow traffic light), and so it would have been even more difficult for them to justify shutting the clubs here based on that criteria.

Nothing that you’ve said also addresses my point about how clubs full of young, healthy vaccinated people are unlikely to be a significant driver of the current hospitalisations, and how it justifies why it’s literally the only area of public life which is having to be shut entirely, even to thosee vaccinated (restaurants, museums, theatres, football stadiums etc. are all set to remain open in some capacity for those vaccinated).

So no, I’m not talking out my behind, thanks.

Old-Dutch nightclubs? Thank God they all got vaccinated to make sure things like this didn’t happen
