Funky let me expand on my previous comment. you’re entire position is based on this vague notion of not trusting authority of any kind. governments, scientists, experts in their field.
i’m only smart enough to know that when i don’t know something (especially with a subject as complicated as human health and virology that people spend their lives studying), to trust people who are the best and most knowledgeable. it doesn’t mean their perfect or always correct, but that’s science. make decisions based on the best data available at the time. it’s not infallible, but it’s better than me thinking i know better.

Funky Many survive this virus and have no long term effects, do we know any long term effects by taking 4 shots a year no we don’t. Heart inflammation is 1 in 50k but I’m sure that rises with 4 a year.

I didn’t say the vaccine was dangerous but there is also some side effects no doubt about that.
The qanon thing has only been around a short time so to throw me in amongst that is ridiculous for me mentioning free speech, mandates and extra government control.
If your all for the above including wiping out free speech is for you then fair enough but I’m also entitled to have an equally different view just agree to disagree and move on. I’m not pushing anything on anyone and nor should you we are all grown ups here I thought.
Not a mask in sight
I’ve just cancelled a ski trip for a mate’s 50th next week. A little pressure from the misses, but I can’t believe it’s going ahead - everyone’s got kids and you won’t get back for Christmas if you test positive. It’s not as if ski resorts were any kind of catalyst in early 2020, is it?

We’re a little concerned just because of the time of year. Holidays and all that. But if you’re vaccinated you should be fine. With a booster almost certainly. The people who should be worried are those not vaccinated. Even then, the likelihood of hospitalization is pretty low. This variant, around here anyway, is quite contagious but not very virulent.
That said, special lady friend attended a restaurant closure for one of her friends on Wednesday. Two positives from there already. She’s getting a PCR tomorrow morning. She’s vaccinated. Dunno about the others. She’s Black and many of her friends are also. We’ve done great with their vaccination rates in SF, but the East Bay hasn’t been so successful with that demographic. The reasons for have been said here many times already so no point in repeating them.
