jonattonyeah if you’re vaccinated you should be fine. With a booster almost certainly. The people who should be worried are those not vaccinated. Even then, the likelihood of hospitalization is pretty low. This variant, around here anyway, is quite contagious but not very virulent.
Interesting line JY. The old “you’re unlikely to die yourself ergo fill your boots” take.
Not saying I disagree as such, but the (prevalent) counter-narrative would be “if we all go around jabbed up and fancy-free we’ll generate such a rapid explosion of cases that even a minuscule hospital rate will crush the nations defences”
And why does no one ever spare a thought for the people who can’t take a vax for genuine medical reasons?! My goodness those guys are fucking fucked, right?
Essentially we are back to my previous proposition, i.e. all that vaccines really do is lower your personal risk enough to make you behave in a way that is massively problematic at the population level.
Personally I think it’s zoom calls 4 life and permanent, government-mandated estrangement from one’s fellow man that will solve this crisis, not the tinctures and potions of some craven pharmacists.
Anyway, got to go, got a big party to attend tonight, catch you all later.
