alistair Whitty seems like the lone voice of reason at the mo amongst the Government/Medical advisor teams.
No hyperbole, but sensible guidance to prioritise the social engagements you DO decide to go ahead with. Happy to admit that the data are showing that it could be a shitshow, but could also be a much milder outcome. Happy to admit ’We don’t know’ rather than bluster through with mock-Churchillian platitudes like Boris the booster buffoon.
I’m worried though that a combination of pandemic fatigue, mistrust in the Government, and vaccine hesitancy will lead to this spike being far worse than it needed to be. Bunch of friends who so far have been restriction compliant who have said that if restrictions were introduced before and for Christmas, they’d ignore them completely - and frankly, who can blame them at this point?
