I use Melatonin for jetlag, itās decent, although I swore off repeated use because after a few days continuous use it gave me a banging headache.
See also: Ashwaghanda, which seems to have the same effect (but good for short-term use).
Oh, and they both gave me a noticeably slower heartrate which I didnāt really feel comfortable with - nothing extreme, but I remember thinking āthatās a bit fucking weirdā and not liking it.

Jules72 No side effects, besides being lightly groggy some mornings. Even though not physically addictive, it certainly started feeling like I was getting dependent on it. Also, increasing the dosages as usage got more regular. If you need a hard reset on your sleep cycle, because youāre jetlagged or you had a couple of wonky late nights, Iād definitely recommend melatonin.
Magnesium is different because it has a lot of other benefits - muscle relaxant, great for the heart, definitely not as addictive mentally, and this might be subjective, but the sleep feels more natural. Canāt recommend it enough.
I take this tablet once a day about an hour before sleep:
rhouses personally do feel groggy after a melatoninā¦. I think the āaddictionā is psychological - thinking that you need it to sleep and youāre less relaxed if you donāt take one.. sleep therapists all say the best way is to stay off the meds completely, although melatonin is pretty harmless ⦠anyway Iām giving magnesium a try - HTFF etc etc .. we should have a separate thread on health stuff I reckon - thereās loads of stuff I could be pasting on there
So all remaining restrictions, including the legal requirement to self-isolate will be scrapped in the UK at the end of the month. Something similar to flu after all
