Have just got round to catching up on all things Total T. Talk about wonder product! Wow šŸ‘Œ

Hope we can expect some Hi-T sets from you soon, Mills, throw all the chug in the bin.

related to long covid, does anyone have experience with a decent wearable oximeter? looking for o2 levels and sleep tracking on a wristband. online reviews are all over the place and i can’t tell if they’re accurate in how they measure.

Along_the_Wire thanks, i’ll check that out.

edit: sorry, should have added i don’t want anything with a subscription fee and a local vs. web-based app would be preferable, but that might be impossible to avoid

rhouses Rhouses did you have side effects from melatonin …. I occasionally take it… thinking of trying magnesium though - do you take it daily? What sort of dose?

I use Melatonin for jetlag, it’s decent, although I swore off repeated use because after a few days continuous use it gave me a banging headache.

See also: Ashwaghanda, which seems to have the same effect (but good for short-term use).

Oh, and they both gave me a noticeably slower heartrate which I didn’t really feel comfortable with - nothing extreme, but I remember thinking ā€œthat’s a bit fucking weirdā€ and not liking it.

Jules72 No side effects, besides being lightly groggy some mornings. Even though not physically addictive, it certainly started feeling like I was getting dependent on it. Also, increasing the dosages as usage got more regular. If you need a hard reset on your sleep cycle, because you’re jetlagged or you had a couple of wonky late nights, I’d definitely recommend melatonin.

Magnesium is different because it has a lot of other benefits - muscle relaxant, great for the heart, definitely not as addictive mentally, and this might be subjective, but the sleep feels more natural. Can’t recommend it enough.

I take this tablet once a day about an hour before sleep:

bosstrabs RDAs are sometimes way off maximum safe usage. Sometimes they don’t actually know and are just putting their best guess.

rhouses personally do feel groggy after a melatonin…. I think the ā€œaddictionā€ is psychological - thinking that you need it to sleep and you’re less relaxed if you don’t take one.. sleep therapists all say the best way is to stay off the meds completely, although melatonin is pretty harmless … anyway I’m giving magnesium a try - HTFF etc etc .. we should have a separate thread on health stuff I reckon - there’s loads of stuff I could be pasting on there

bosstrabs Oh, and they both gave me a noticeably slower heartrate which I didn’t really feel comfortable with - nothing extreme, but I remember thinking ā€œthat’s a bit fucking weirdā€ and not liking it.

Deduction - Dave is struggling to rouse ā€˜little Dave’.

            Am I right?

So all remaining restrictions, including the legal requirement to self-isolate will be scrapped in the UK at the end of the month. Something similar to flu after all šŸ˜‰

Jules72 Yeah that’s exactly it, mostly psychological, but thankfully kicking it isn’t trouble at all. I’m still a big fan of melatonin but in moderation.

Hope the magnesium works for you, glad I’ve started it and hoping it does some good in the long term.

303abuser naaah. But I like to think my tummy is fairly tough after a lifetime of Indian food and spices. I also do isabgol (every other night), psyllium husk, so my digestion in general is mostly governed by that.

rhouses just don’t take it to get back to sleep when you wake up in the middle of the night mate. You will wake up at 5 with terrible flatulence and needing a huge shit half an hour later

Glad you flushed this detail out.

If it functioned as a laxative for Rhouses I think we’d all be in the shit.
