Yeah the rapid tests can pick up prior infection. I would hazard a guess it’s that rather than reinfection two months later.

You’re not required to do a PCR here anymore, antigen test is enough.

One day before our event and after escaping it for 2 years.. I’ve got the covid!

After 2 days sore throat and one day in full flow it feels like a decent cold to me (I’ve been on the Vitamin D, C long term and I’m triple vaxx’d).

If I don’t have Sudafed / Lemsip I can get the shivers.

But ultimately I’m just gutted I won’t be at our event tomorrow after all the work, and it sold out.

jonattonyeah Any insight into reinfections for people who had omicron? I’m starting to see articles pop up indicating that reinfection rates are higher than they were with previous variants.

I’m off for my booster next week, right at the 3 month mark as I don’t want to take chances getting that sick again and we’re going to a techno night at the end of the month for the first time in forever.

Been off Covid for a bit but still on email chains. Our rates remain the highest in the State but that’s mostly because of robust testing. BA.2 is estimated at ¾ of all new cases around here but serious clinical issues have been close to zero. Two months ago, at one UCSF hospital, we had around 100 Covid hospitalizations (not always Covid-specific but they’re counted anyway). As of today (I just looked) we have 1 at that same hospital. Seems like we should be good for a while but look to Australia and the like to see how they do through their winter. Come our Fall and Winter, we might be in a bit of a cat and mouse game with this little bastard. But the vaccines are holding up very well. Honestly, the constant testing seems more like an academic endeavour than an immediate public health concern.
