Never been a smoker and never had issues before. The reason I got tested initially was breathing problems; specifically taking deep breaths. Just didn’t feel right and given my work though it best to get tested. Came back positive and the issues have persisted ever since. Had a CXR done a few months back and they found scar tissue. Can it be perfectly pinpointed to COVID? Not at this juncture but Occam’s Razor says it’s likely a COVID-specific issue.

I don’t disagree that it is maddening to see people trying to carry on like everything is normal, but I still think it is pointless to preach personal responsibility. Our elected officials have completely failed us, and this is while they are getting caught doing the exact things we are told to forgo. These were the same people floating Easter 2020 as a time to return to normal. The have lied and bungled and disregarded their own rules at every possible turn. If they really gave a shit, they would be paying everyone to stay home. It’s really not that hard. But telling people to go to work but then go right home and isolate is fucking disgusting. People just can’t take this any more.

Word around here is that there was probably little that could have been done without a vaccine. California was one of the stricter states and I can tell you, anecdotally, that the Bay was very mask adherent and did what was asked for the most part. Where did that get us? Seems like it really just bought us a bit of time but really just delayed the inevitable.

We get through February, we’ll be well on our way. But these next two months, from what I’ve been told, will be the worst yet so buckle up.
