Matt That’s good to see.
About time 👍
Matt Agreed. Working their plums off.
Mrs is a deputy and we barely see her.
I am enjoying being at home with daughter though, wouldn’t get the opportunity to spend so much time together if wasn’t WFH.
Silver linings and all that
Dubman If you follow the numbers though Dubbers, it makes sense to get those who are impacted greatest first.
Happens with all other vaccines.
I cant deny that the moral case is a compelling one too (I’d rather see my wife vaccinated than me) but its unscientific and doesn’t hold up under scrutiny.
Mad_Cyril I do agree that the most vulnerable in society should get vaccinated first but after that it should be those on the front line should be next. Obviously I’m looking at the more simplistic approach but I know it’s much more complex than that.
It’s an independent body that has made these risk assessments on priority and I think they are broadly speaking right. Playing devils advocate a bit here, but why should teachers, whose average is 39 get their jabs before supermarket workers who the unheralded heroes of this pandemic and statistically are more at risk.
alistair If they get Covid the class is shut down for ten days. Supermarkets trundle on.
alistair You could argue that If schools couldn’t stay open (due to high numbers of staff absence related to covid). Many of these supermarket workers wouldn’t be able to go to work. They’d be at home looking after their kids, Like many people who aren’t classed as key workers currently are.
It’s a shame these front line groups will have to be prioritised, they should all have access to the vaccine ASAP.
bosstrabs 100% - how can the government think differently, it’s absurd
Matt Don’t worry, the lazy cunts have got next week off.
Along_the_Wire Yeah, I sarcastically said something like that to my Mrs last night. Got a right fucking ear full about the amount of stuff she has to do. Lazy bitch
Matt they should all get it before me. It’s just that I have difficulty discriminating between equally worthy groups. I am happy to leave it to the experts who seem to be doing a good job so far with the roll out.
alistair Yeah. I agree. I don’t think Teachers deserve it more than any other group that may be considered high risk. Although from a personal point of view. My wife, mother, sister and sister in law all work in schools. For selfish reasons I’d rather see them done before any others, as I’m sure supermarket workers and their families would rather see them get it before school teachers.
Matt For the record mate, as the father of a son with learning difficulties, I have a huge amount of respect for the jobs people like your wife do. 👏👍
alistair And mine, pal!
Along_the_Wire My wife is probably more deserving than Matt’s too, she’s a deputy head, and heads up special needs and safe-guarding.
Along_the_Wire Easy tiger. It’s not a competition.
Stand down, Matt, I was doing a funny!
Along_the_Wire Fair enough mate. I was in the middle of something and without engaging my brain, that was my instant reaction to what you posted.
Those who can, do.
Those who can’t, teach.
Those who can’t teach, teach PE.
Show that to you Dorises lads!
And a down vote for your troubles too. Who was it? Can’t see it
