There’s a myriad of factors here. To say one is more effective than the other is too far a blanket statement and frankly quite stupid.

There’s also a price point issue. I can’t speak to Europe, but we’re buying Pfizer in bulk because, despite its higher cost, they have the capacity to develop A LOT of vaccines, with a better distribution network, and quickly - it’ll be cheaper in the long run.
To get it spats about this, that, or the other, when they’ve all been shown to be 85%+ effective, is, once again, politicizing a public health issue. The amount of money involved is also staggering. There are a lot of people who stand to make a lot of money if AZ is used more than Pfizer, and vice versa.
The only scandal I see is a complete wound like “Iain Dale” being given a pulpit to spout nonsense that he’s utterly uniformed about. But a “political blogger ” pontificating on Twitter about vaccinations speaks for itself, doesn’t it?
