Phil-McRackin Would have preferred the soup dragons

Are you even there? LOL.

Just watch the vid with the sound low and play the Soup Dragons.

Jayda G is excellent. “Both Of Us” is just a flat out good House track.

jonattonyeah the follow up All I need (which I posted yesterday) is just as good. No flash in the pan is she

There are some excellent vocal house tracks doing the rounds. Jayda G, Honey Dijon, Paris Brightledge, Roland Clark. Ultra Nate is pure cheddar

If ever a time called for cheddar, though.

I hated “Free” when I was younger and took myself far too seriously. But it’s a good, well-produced, fun song that everybody knows. Like Dave said, if there was ever a time for a track like “Free”, as cheese as it may be, it is today. I don’t have patience for forlorn and whimsical nonsense like what Nick Warren or Lee Burridge play these days. When I go out again I want my hands in the air, not my eyes to the floor.

Yeah, imagine shuffling along to some limp organic house boreathon…not what is needed there tonight.

That’s what I think of it too. When it was out (1998), I thought it was pure shite. I had been mostly listening to indie/alternative from the age of about 15.

I was in the sixth form (Year 12 to Americans?) but had started going to Cream a bit. Actually, a bunch of lads from sixth form college had a minibus or coach (when it got really big) going every week. I was the type of cunt who would go with them all and then about 2 or 3 of us would fuck off to the Annexe to watch Warren or Weatherall or Justin Robertson or someone we deemed cool.

They were probably having more fun in the Main Room listening to Allister Whitehead playing absolute cheese like Free.

Hideaway (Deep Dish Remix) was another tune that got rinsed (although it came out earlier) around that time that I despised as pure fondue. Years later I realised what an exceptionally good track it was, and wished I’d properly had it out to that on the dancefloor more, on a couple of bangers.

        • Dan replied to this.

alistair the follow up All I need (which I posted yesterday) is just as good

          KLANG

Probably the first and last time I will agree with David Bellamy here but it’s a class tune especially for those who originally experienced it in the Balearics #scones

jonattonyeah It’s Friday night and life is too short for bitchy comments. As for an appreciation of house music. I quite literally went to Hard times every weekend for three years at uni. I doubt you’d even know what it is or where it was.

            I agree, MC’s comments - totally unacceptable.

Surely any half credible DJ would be opening up with the william orbit mix of I am free rather than ultra Nate

I know what I’d finish the night on.

            This, and fuck you all…

The last and only time I saw Yousef, he played One More Time so he’s got form

wouldn’t be surprised if primal scream - come together got an airing
