Mods, can we delete this thread please. I’m feeling queasy. šŸ˜…

One thing I will say about Covid tests and vaccinations. Ever since I gave the NHS my phone number to register my test results and for t&t I’ve started getting more scam text messages (had two in the last two days).

Now obviously I can’t be sure this isn’t just a coincidence and I’d have thought the NHS would be pretty strict about sharing this info but I normally never give out my number online and hardly ever used to get these scam calls and texts.

I reckon they will be passing this to one of their ā€œselected partnersā€ who will be giving it to one of their selected partners etc and you end up basically putting your number in the public domain.

Cunts, basically.

San Francisco likely to require indoor masks again in the coming days due to the Delta variant. Our vaccination rates for residents is like 80+%. Done really well on that front. Travel restrictions to idiot states like Florida have been put in place. But the worry is now there.

Said two things from the get-go: (1) it’s a man-manufactured virus that was released by mistake and (2) it’s not going anywhere so we need to live along side it as best we can. I stand by both to this day.

    jonattonyeah it’s a man-manufactured

Wondering how this might affect its ability to mutate.

Appreciate not easy to answer but been back on the dystopian fiction of late!!

Was waiting for Jon to post something like this. I was reading that article about Israel earlier that is doing the rounds. Jon, what are you seeing in regards to the severity of the infections in those who have been fully vaccinated?

Think vaccines would have prevented outright a lot of infections of the original strain of covid - you wouldn’t even have caught it assymptomatically… with the Delta variant you will likely catch it but it will be mild if you are double vaccinated. Think that’s the key difference… yep we got to live with it. Problem is: how will this fear of getting it (however mildly) hang over people’s activities, particularly as we head into winter?

zackster I hope it doesn’t spread like it had here, but there’s no reason to thing it won’t. Look at the cunt from Kent

That seemed to be the gist of the article I read. What I, and I assume most of us, want to know if are the long term effects possible/common in the infected and vaccinated. This goddamned Wuhan Flu!!!

        zackster

We’ve had outbreaks at LTCF’s and SNF’s (very old people) who have all been fully vaccinated but the symptoms have been minor. No deaths. I don’t know if it’s Delta or not. Not privy to that level of detail.

But Delta is in Marin County, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from us. Symptoms hitting two groups - those unvaccinated and those not eligible (kids). It’s very worrisome. But those vaccinated seem to be okay even with a positive PCR.

I’m done with COVID work July 1st. Back to good ole’ AIDS. But have been told to expect to be pulled back in come October-time. I guess I can let that speak for itself. Don’t think it’ll be like last winter, but not looking like a picnic either.

        @Mad_Cyril

I have no idea. But I do know this is one nasty bug. We might get to the point where it’s COVID-22; related, but different.

jonattonyeah In the UK, the picture’s a little different. The majority of people dying in England with the now-dominant Delta (B.1.617.2) variant have been vaccinated.

Again, to state for any thickets who might come at me, I’m not anti-vaxx and am already vaccinated.

I am, however, concerned about the efficacy and side effects of the vaccines from what I see in the data. Although I’m looking with the eye of an Economics graduate, not a medical professional.

jonattonyeah Your ongoing CIA deployment has been invaluable to us here in the JC community. I am sorry Tony didn’t give you the McAffee detail, as I am sure that was a thrill.

bosstrabs I’m looking with the eye of an Economics graduate

Christ Dave, I’d have been more generous with my LOLs if I’d have known!

Davy, via the medium of your magnificent mangina and your economics degree, how are the efficacy and side effects of the vaccine looking?

            bosstrabs

Yeah, there’s just so many variables. It’s hard to make any reasonable comparisons. San Francisco is population-dense by US standards and has a very large homeless population (encampment outbreaks have been a recent issue). We’re also heavy Pfizer/Moderna. No AV. I don’t know what that means. I get some info from the research side of things, but only what’s shared on our calls. I’m frankly uninformed about a lot of it despite working on our local COVID issues for 15-whatever months. I share what’s shared with me.

Vaccines seem to be working here. I can say that.

So you’re saying that you will be Delta Heavy soon?
