Along_the_Wire yes agreed, but surely having the kids vaccinated reduces that risk?
The General Covid19 Thread
How do you know where your GREAT BRITISH VACCINE was produced?
When joints don’t work, why not have a lottery as well!
https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/561062-michigan-to-announce-5-million-vaccine-lottery
Millsy Definitely. We should do that.
Along_the_Wire yup hearing of loads of people coming down with it. Wish the country would realise this is on Boris Johnson and boot the bastard out
Was out on the smash in Central London yesterday, was absolutely superb.
We’re getting back to normal and it feels great.
As much as it was an absolute colossal fuck up by the UK Govt. the reality is that it would have got here at some point or another. It would have been preferable to have come at a much later stage when vaccination rates were far higher, but I doubt it wouldn’t have ended up in the UK at some point or other anyway.
Not trying to justify their actions - the do need to be held accountable for it.
It’s BAU in London lads, get ya self down here.
Think there’s a silver lining though… we are all going to get this but a mild dose… that immunity will help with the next variant that comes along that will evade vaccines further
Along_the_Wire Surely US healthcare will put massive premiums on people not jabbed?
I don’t know. Around this way many who are not jabbed fall into the “underserved” category. Poor. Mentally ill. Undocumented immigrants. Their trust in the systems of care and the government is minimal. Their premiums won’t go up as they don’t have any. They’re reliant upon us as the safety net provider of health services. I’m not sure about how it
is elsewhere. Sure I’ve said this before, but you go 50 miles inland and you might as well be in a different country. America is a big and complicated place. California is united in name only.
jonattonyeah Yeah, get that, but you got all the Trump anti-mask clowns - a load of those will be anti-Vaxx?
Yeah we don’t have many of those around here. America is full of right-wing nutjobs but you’d be hard pressed to find a more left-leaning place on the planet than San Francisco. I’m comfortable speaking for how things are going here; my thoughts are informed and I can back them up. I can give my opinion about elsewhere but it’s little more than that…an opinion. But it does seem we’re looking at two Americas - those vaccinated and those not. Vaccines are widely available. Those not vaccinated have chosen not to and will likely not budge. What that means we’ll just have to wait and see.
jonattonyeah Love San Francisco. I’m over for one night as part of a trip to see Rams at 49ers mid-November. It’s a group thing, but sure I could get away for a couple of hours if you fancy a few IPAs?
I literally won’t talk to anyone who hasn’t been vaxxed on account they’re likely to be an absolute looser.
Smallman1 Amen brother
Yeah just let me know, my man. I’m always out and about. As an FYI, the Niners stadium is miles away from SF. They really should be called the San Jose 49ers. If you’re going to stay in SF build an extensive travel plan into it - 90 minutes or so at minimum. And get seats in the west section! The east section (the visitor section) can get brutally hot, even in November (our summer runs very late - assuming we all haven’t burned to the ground by then).
jonattonyeah Roger that. It’s the Monday Night game, so all good.
jonattonyeah you’d be hard pressed to find a more left-leaning place on the planet than San Francisco.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’ll be lovely. November nights can be a tad chilly but down in the Valley it should be perfect.
Truth. Our politicians don’t always represent it and we have some wacko tech libertarian-types. But the general populace is very left-leaning. To a fault, oftentimes. We’ll see if that holds as the City becomes even more impossibly expensive.
