That’ll be lovely. November nights can be a tad chilly but down in the Valley it should be perfect.

Truth. Our politicians don’t always represent it and we have some wacko tech libertarian-types. But the general populace is very left-leaning. To a fault, oftentimes. We’ll see if that holds as the City becomes even more impossibly expensive.

Thoroughly enjoyed my week at Stanford / Palo Alto and subsequent week in San Fran a few years ago.

    Wonderful part of the world.

Zackster is the biggest champagne socialist I ever did meet!

The South Park episode about Kyle’s family moving to San Fran is fantastic.

There’s certainly plenty to mock about this place. I honestly hate it as much as I love it.

Would move there in a heartbeat. I do enough work with The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Fran that they should offer me a job.

      We have enough slumlords, thanks.

      (I joke)

You always have a friend here if you ever decide to do so, Zack.

James Hetfield had to move out of San Francisco because his hunting was too much for his neighbors. 😃

He lived in Marin. That’s as lily white and wealthy as anywhere outside of Connecticut. It might seem daft to say a place just across a bridge is vastly different than the City it’s more well-known for….but it is. This area is fucking weird, man. Good luck finding a house in Marin for under $2,000,000 while it has San Quentin Federal Penitentiary - probably the most famous prison outside of Alcatraz. Oakland, just a short drive away, is vastly different than Silicon Valley to the point that slang won’t even make sense. Not sure what my point was here. I guess when I hear Hetfield or others say “San Francisco” they are speaking colloquially for the Bay Area but this area really isn’t coherent or homogenous in many ways. Hunting is banned in SF, as an example, but you can kill hogs year-round in Marin. There is no hunting season.

Tony Sirico did a spell in Sing Sing. The Wu Tang sang about it.

          Winning prison.

Delta is now 30% of SF cases with it to be 90% within the coming month or so. Pretty much all unvaccinated individuals. Breakthrough cases among those vaccinated is very low. Just 0.04%. State-wide. A bit higher here due to outbreaks at homeless encampments. They’re a tough population. A lot of trauma, mental illness, and substance use. They also move around a lot and their engagement with services is low. We try to get them vaccinated but one shot is often the best we can do given their follow-up is slim to none and they’re often hard to find.

jonattonyeah A lot of trauma, mental illness, and substance use.

            They’d fit right in here

jonattonyeah I wonder whether your use of MRNA vaccines is standing you in better stead than here … still, I wouldn’t call victory on the variant - there is clear breakthrough here even with those with Pfizer
