The Mount Rushmore, Dave. SQ is right there. We have some incredible criminals.
The General Covid19 Thread
Tony Sirico did a spell in Sing Sing. The Wu Tang sang about it.
Winning prison.
Delta is now 30% of SF cases with it to be 90% within the coming month or so. Pretty much all unvaccinated individuals. Breakthrough cases among those vaccinated is very low. Just 0.04%. State-wide. A bit higher here due to outbreaks at homeless encampments. They’re a tough population. A lot of trauma, mental illness, and substance use. They also move around a lot and their engagement with services is low. We try to get them vaccinated but one shot is often the best we can do given their follow-up is slim to none and they’re often hard to find.
jonattonyeah A lot of trauma, mental illness, and substance use.
They’d fit right in here
jonattonyeah I wonder whether your use of MRNA vaccines is standing you in better stead than here … still, I wouldn’t call victory on the variant - there is clear breakthrough here even with those with Pfizer
Really interesting article on what we can expect here in the UK over the next few months…this guy’s model has deaths peaking at 200 a day but cases going well beyond the previous peak… seems pretty feasible and realistic imo

Jules72 Liked that, Jules!
Excellent article that Jules.
Needs to be taken with a pinch of salt though - The Spectator has a pretty extreme view on lockdowns etc and is often a voice for covid denial brigade
Along_the_Wire think the assumptions make sense though given what we know… anyway, I reckon the governments strategy is now to expose the (double vaccinated) population to the current strain… and personally think it makes sense to build up immunity vs the next one that comes along
Jules72 completely agree

Know two people who over the past fortnight have taken multiple lateral flow tests which came up negative, before testing positive with a pcr test… they should stop using these home testing kits - they’re bloody useless and just lead to false complacency. Wonder how many people have assumed the lateral flow results were correct, gone about their lives and passed on the virus… yet another useless (and expensive) Tory policy
We are basically being told to live with it now though, which is quite surprising to be honest. But they are being ‘guided by the data and scientists’ so this Delta must nowhere near as bad as the original variants
We need to move on.
