zackster I am not debating the requirements or even what is appropriate. All I am saying is this: since the plan is to create herd immunity through vaccination and infection then the idea that a clean test means anything or makes sense when entering a public gathering is stupid. Under the current and now only real approach we have the vax is really all that matters. If you want to double down and say you have to be vaxxed AND test clean I’ll buy that. But unvaxxed individuals who have tested clean around those who are all jabbed up makes no sense and just promotes the spread.
Sorry I can’t go with this. It’s pushing against the reasonable limits of personal liberty now IMO. Whether you take the vaccination or not needs to be a matter of people’s personal choice.
It is reasonable, I think, to say “you cannot enter this area if you are COVID positive” or “you cannot enter this area unless you abide by our dress requirement [to wear a face covering]” but not to require a vaccination.
This is, I suppose, the point where my concern about the virus starts to be over-ridden by my concern for fundamental liberties. One of which is to not put a substance in your body if you don’t want to.
I think evidence-based persuasion has to be the way to go - informed consent, not mandates.
