Not possible, unfortunately. Partial immunity might be enough for the time being - particularly for those vaccinated. But our vaccination rates are flat now. We might just be stuck between 70-75% with repeater (booster) shot rates only dropping as people get burned out on even hearing the word COVID. And we’ve done well! Other locales and States….god even knows. But most are not 75+/-%. We had a chance. But we couldn’t do the 90% goal. I don’t think we’re unique. I’d bet everywhere had a huge bump in vaccines throughout March to June. I’m sure it’s flat across the board now.
I guess you could say we’re just about at herd stupidity.
The remaining unvaccinated are not likely to be vaccinated under any circumstance. Not sure what else to say. We all might pay the price for it. Hopefully Delta will just continue to be more infectious but less virulent, eventually burning itself out. But for those who are over 18, who are unvaccinated, who get sick….I’m going to find it very hard to sympathize outside of “that sucks” platitudes. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
