Yeah I disagree. NBA players always have leverage. They, unlike the NFL (where laundry is what matters), are bigger than the league.
I also can’t help but wonder how much of this has to do with the “bubble”. If there was no COVID and all was normal by NBA standards, would they give up on the season? I’m not so sure. I can’t imagine they’re having much fun down there. NBA players are young, wealthy men who fall into two general categories…those who go out to the strip clubs ’till 5 AM (not happening) and those who have more of a family life (also not happening). It’s gotta suck, irrespective of paycheck.
