alistair they absolutely are. They have continued to hold on to power via limiting access to voting, gerrymandering, and the horrific nature of the Constitution.
HOWEVER, the real issue here IMO is that the Dems once again completely disregard/refuse to understand a minority voting block. In this case the Latino vote. This election proves that the Latino vote is very much in line with the (for lack of a better term) white trash vote. These groups are both clearly willing to vote against their interests if labor/working class issues aren’t being offered. Demi are obsessed with minorities being interested in the culture war, and this just obviously is not the case. Because of this the Repubs are in a positions to build a Latino coalition that could offer a massive lifeline to the future of the party.
