Looks really good. Can use MPE with Push 2 which is a bonus. Hybrid Reverb and scale option for clips also big pluses that I can see myself using a fair bit.

Also got an early bird invite for the upgrade with 20% which is a no brainer. šŸ˜€

Henry Also got an early bird invite for the upgrade with 20% which is a no brainer.

is that 20% off upgrading 9 to 10, with a free upgrade to 11 OR 20% off upgrading 10 to 11?

303abuser Iā€™m going from 10 so not sure version 9 owners. The email link just took me to my account so presumably Ableton are targeting 10 users?

Henry ah i see, i logged in and it shows the discount there. i was under the impression the discount was for people upgrading from 9.

Unbroken1 in CAD, my upgrade is $290, $230 after the discount.

          ā€¦fuck, thatā€™s quite a lot, only upgraded to 10 last December šŸ™

The update from 9 to 10 took years so agreed this is a bit of a pisser having this come so soon.
Bit disappointed about not getting a new synth too. The Poli synth has been around for ages and looks a bit shit. I do wonder whether this will be a regular thing now with more regular releases.

Having said all that the updates I mentioned earlier plus the additional packs that will surely follow will make it worth it.

itā€™s definitely early and i appreciate that they dropped the upgrade price, but this seems like a 10.5 version rather than 11.0.

Comping and scales overlay on the piano roll Iā€™d definitely use - which are time savers more than anything. I already have beatseaker so itā€™s a bit annoying that itā€™s going to be an integrated feature. Iā€™m not sure how linked editing would be helpful. Extra macroā€™s is fine. Easy on additional packs / effects etc. Biggest issue for me though is that my music computer runs Windows 7 and this will be Windows 10 only. I donā€™t really want to reconstitute it again, having survived the harddrive crash from last year.

Amps Again, another synth line today that isnā€™t complete dog shit. Result.

Anyone got any tutorials or info on making giant fuck off laser noises? Preferably in Ableton or using a nice free VST. I canā€™t see much, so my assumption is that ā€˜laser noisesā€™ are called something else in the world of proper production. Think Chemical Bros etc.

Have you tried googling ā€˜pew, pew, pewwwwwā€™?

            Works in Lego Batman

Amps Iā€™m with you. Laser noises are both awesome and essential. Experiment with pitch envelopes, as a large element of the sound can be fast pitch dropping or rising. Same with filter sweeps. Or get sampling them from where ever and do the same thing. In short experiment.

apyssjw Yeah, I need the fisher price my first laser noise tutorial.

ā€¦ancient version of Live, but principles are the same:

i need to stop looking at black friday sales. does anyone have experience with arturiaā€™s pigments software? looks really interesting, especially with the modulation options, and itā€™s on sale for $90 CAD.

@303abuser I have not forgotten about your feedback. Itā€™s all valid. I havenā€™t had use of my mousing hand latelyā€¦ I got one of those old fucker diseases thatā€™s ruined using a desktop the past few weeks. Shingles. Fucking shingles! Almost healed, but the random weird pain is obnoxious. Do not recommend.

303abuser Aye! Bought it when it was half price earlier this year. Itā€™s a beast in terms of options to modulate. And very simple to do so too: lots of graphics (colours) to show you which you are modulating so you donā€™t lose track on what is going where.
One of the really cool features it has is the function option (3 of these) which you can basically draw in your modulating pattern and then assign something to that.

The thing that swung it for me was the sound engine. Really really clear and so much fuller than something like Serum or bundled Ableton synths. Add to that the really cool grantulator mode and for the price they are offering, itā€™s a no brainer really.
