303abuser It’s got some nice chorus/delay combos in there. I filtered out about 4 presets that I would actually use. The rest not to my taste. It’s all presets though so no actual going in and tweaking things besides some macros they give you.

I am covered already for good delay, reverb and chorus so god knows I don’t need more. But snagged it anyway as I have some other free tidbits from UJAM and you never know if in the future it might come in handy when it can serve towards some discount when and if they release a product I would actually purchase. For now it’s in my demo folder and time will tell if I ever reach for it versus what I have.

Their Finisher MICRO (their free plugin) is a gem though. That actually has all I would want from the UJAM Finisher lineup in one handy condensed, no bullshit and no faf package.

Seems a bit surprising. Maybe you might want to ask them if there was a reason behind it?

It appears most of the tracks on that release seem to have been given the same classification, albeit a few have other categories such as Tech House or “Mainstage” (whatever that is). I’d have thought that classification might make it harder for potentially interested browsers to stumble upon the track and release - given to my ears there seems other categories many of the tracks would more closely relate to.

I was interested to see if the mix sounded different when loud, as I knew he was going to be playing it out beforehand. Sounded pretty similar to be fair. Maybe the arrangement sounds a little busy, but then it was pitched up slightly which would have contributed to that.

apyssjw Haha probably some nerves before you know the mix sounds ok in that environment. Good for you, nice to get some external validation now and again, that you’re not just throwing your music into a giant void.

I guess all the posters in this thread are well beyond the basics of Ableton Live, but is anyone aware of any decent tutorial stuff for beginners? thanks

…honestly, everything you need is on YouTube. It’s such a comprehensive application with so many different ways of achieving outcomes, It’s a never-ending journey of learning. Just when you think you’ve cracked it, you’ll discover someone who uses it on a level that completely blows your mind, but once you reach a point you can start to articulate your ideas, it’s extremely satisfying.

I rely on tutorials much less now than I did, but it can be really inspirational just dipping in to see how other people work or pick up a new technique if you are stuck in a rut or the juices just aren’t flowing.

For starting out, I’d recommend Zahand/Lotus Tunes- he’s a bit genre-preoccupied (has quite fixed ideas about what the rules about ‘progressive’ or ‘organic’ tracks should do, which I absolutely don’t), but he’s really consistent at recapping what he’s doing so users of all levels can keep up, is generally good at explaining stuff, and has a nice calm delivery:
