Haven’t pulled the trigger on anything yet, it’s so difficult to know where to start. Leaning towards Diva, just due to its scope and the amount of other users and tutorials etc. Really need to get more time in with Ableton though.
the production thread
You’ve probs had / read this advice before but only get one synth (or a couple) and concentrate on learning it properly. It’ll make a world of difference when you get the inevitable avalanche of synths etc if you stick at it.
here’s an excellent video around the mixing process …
This might come more under ‘general computer help’, but the new computer has been boss so far, but it’s started to have audio glitches… I can be listening to music in Ableton, and then when I scroll a web page in Chrome, the audio will glitch / distort. It goes for just about everything, listening to a track on Soundcloud, and then get glitches when I open the Control Panel etc. It appears the CPU has become a bit ‘spikey’ and it’s fucking the audio. Any thoughts on any fixes gents?
Amps are you using built in sound or an audio interface?
mono-stereo No audio interface, nothing more than a pair of headphones plugged in. It’s all ‘in the box’ as it where.
Amps i’n not really up on PCs these days but my guess would be the stuttering is due to the shitty built in sound chip you’re using, best off getting either a proper sound card or external audio interface that uses asio drivers.
mono-stereo It has a decent sound card in it, just not an audio interface. Can’t believe it’s the drivers as it’s only three weeks old…
Amps What sound card has it got in it? Built in sound/DACs included with motherboards tend to be shite.
It appears to be extensions in the browsers. I think probably Adobe Acrobat extension. Load of shite.
Not a production question but is it possible to remove id tags on a mixed cd so that I could rip as one complete file instead of single tracks.
Unbroken1 in case you’re still looking, i just discovered this one and it’s very reasonably priced as well.
