apyssjw Nice one, super clean as always. Every time I listen to your tracks, it reminds me that I need to try out arps more often, then I habitually forget again. 😅

303abuser Thanks! This is one of the tracks I was working on when I mentioned a year or so ago about working on tracks with tighter arrangements. The mid/highs could be a little brighter on the mix but I was really pleased with the arrangement and ‘musical’ content on it.

apyssjw You’re welcome, the mix sounded good to me. That’s probably one of the things that only you will notice (although I obviously like darker mixes too). I thought the sounds held their own space really well.

303abuser oh yeah deffo. Never stop actively listening. Makes it interesting when mixing with your own tracks - it’s like an extended mix reference session.

Out July 29th on Insectorama. Came out right around an hour of dub, chill, ambient.

…25% off Ableton upgrades at the mo, no idea how long for.

Unbroken1 Interesting. So if I’m going to upgrade to 11, it’s either now or Black Friday, I’ll have to think about this one.

Edit: sale is on until june 14th

apyssjw Sorry I missed this last week. Love the record, sounds like something nick warren would’ve played back in the day. Great work. 🙂

apyssjw Thanks - no problem. There’s some interesting techniques I’ve not used before on it. There’s no delay on the high lead - its a rapid chord progression which performs a similar function but keeps things tidy. Also a good example of using the EQ’s on the SSL 9000 J to sweeten the top end.

Down to the last details on the last tune on my next album (but will probably go back and tweak the mix on each track). Have put so much work into it. Am super super happy with it so far.

apyssjw Looking forward to the album, that’s great. Do you do the masters yourself or do you have someone else handle it?

Mad_Cyril Interested to hear what you chaps think if someone remixes your track and nails it.

Is there an element of ‘Damn, wish I’d have thought of that’?

Quite frankly, I’ve liked possibly three remixes ever that have been done of my stuff. It’s gotten to the point where I ask labels not to have remixes unless I get to hand pick who it is and get right of first refusal on whether or not it comes out.

I don’t know if it’s just my ego that can’t take it or because remixes these days largely seem pointless and I’d rather release original music.

                Also, hi fellas.

                I don’t have a problem whatsoever. Nope!

I don’t have a problem. The first signs of a problem is admitting I have a problem! 😆

loopdokter Haha that’s the spirit. I’ve learned that I can be very productive with just the digitakt and syntakt, along side ableton. Everything else is a nice to have luxury for me.

303abuser Still have Oliver Lieb master. Using the 9000 J on all channels. The gains on its EQ has it own sound, maybe a little saturation, which sounds great in the mid & high freqs.
