Morty-C-137 I started in the hardware era (well with the first version of cubase with vsts) and the only way I could work with hardware as you say is to record hardware passes to mess around with in a DAW. It boggles my mind sometimes when you see pics of studios with synth after synth and there’s barely room for a mouse on a desk / tiny laptop (which to my mind are running the show).

apyssjw Some nice sounds in there! I like how it starts out nice and spacious in the mix.

If any of you have a Plugin Alliance account; they have a sale now. They are sending discount vouchers and the latest voucher was for $20 with no minimum spend. So I got Noveltech Character for free.

The discount code is BOOM-20-OFF. Single use only per account.

Morty-C-137 I bought UA Tails yesterday and I’ve got Sculpt sitting in my cart, pending my impulsivity lol. Tails for $15 was an easy call and Sculpt seems interesting for buss processing.

Haven’t tried Sculpt myself. But from what I’ve seen it prob won’t offer me that much more over the transient designer and saturation I have now. Compressor I just use Logic’s stock. Or OTT if I want a not so transparent multiband thing.

Morty-C-137 I’m looking at using sculpt more for chord groups than drums, like evolving textures and tone that modulate over time. We’ll see if that’s how it works out, but that’s my initial use case.

Can never hurt to demo.. and see what sticks.

It was $17, I just bought it. I’m sure I’ll find a use for it and it’s a from a good developer.

Another no minimum spend voucher from Plugin Alliance. I got SPL TwinTube for free.

“ Use code BOOM-20-OFF to save $20 today!

        • Code is valid for 1 order per user
        • NO Minimum Spend! Grab a freebie if you like!”

Morty-C-137 Picked up ‘bass mint’ as a freebe. I use Waves’ R Bass all the time. This looks like it does the same job but with a few more controls.

Unbroken1 Looks fun. Not looked at the detail but think there’s lots of potential with mobiles etc.

I know this is intended to run separately from the main programme but you could have a controller app with Macro controls, X/Y pad etc which would work on a phone screen which would be pretty useful.

apyssjw ..believe projects can be sent back and forth from the main app. using Ableton Cloud (which I’ve not explored yet
