Spiderverse has been added to UK. Absolutely fantastic film

seanc80 Episode 8, yeah, it needs to up it’s game, but more than that, it’s all just a bit depressing, if they don’t get to the tropical zone soon and change the colour pallet, i’m out.

Enjoying The Queens Gambit, different pace to everything else I have been watching.

Amps I have that queued up. I was a Chess dork growing up so it will be interesting to see how the game is portrayed.

I binge watched it over the weekend and thought it was a good drama. She’s well sexy with that ginger hair.

Thankfully looks like there’s some decent new telly around at mom despite lockdowns globally this year….

Dubman Was good, enjoyed it. Any more suggestions along those lines?

Loving the Queen’s Gambit… highly original stuff

-si- I’ve now finished Suburra 3. Verdict: Absolutely crap…

Ratched is not to bad. It’s set in a mental institution in the late forties starring Sarah Paulson (nurse Ratched)

Kumquat thanks for doing the hard yards on that one …….i quite liked Fauda. Certainly made me hungry for Israeli/Palestinian food - not that it’s about food!

baggers44 I thought Fauda was great. If you liked that try ‘Tehran’ from the same writing team.

Cheers for the Chicago 7 film recommendation, it was excellent.

It inspired me to order the Max Hastings book on Vietnam. Just getting stuck into it now, absolutely stunning how the US got themselves involved there against all the advice that it was impossible to win.

Hursty Did you watch Ken Burns’ The Vietnam War on Netflix, Hursty? Easily the best documentary series ever made on the subject.

Kumquat damn had that lined up next…. Simon I take it you liked the previous series?

LT42 its excellent. Learned so much watching it. The Iraq documentary series on iplayer essential viewing too

LT42 I will check it out….after I have finished the book, which is epic by the way. It starts in 1945 and covers the French colonial cluster before the shambolic era of splitting the country like Korea and the weekly coups which ensued in South Vietnam. Just up to to 1965 where shit is starting to get real with the deployment of hundreds of thousands of men into the jungle. It is a painful read.

The Mrs keeps asking me if I’m enjoying it. My reply is usually ‘blood, death, torture, rape, famine, etc’ What’s not to enjoy!?
