Netflix
HBO has signed on Mike White for a second season of The White Lotus. That’s…odd. It was a unique show made in a unique time (filmed in a self-contained “bubble” during Covid). I don’t really see how it could be continued on in any meaningful way.
Stopped my Netflix subscription. Was spending so much time trying to find stuff then being very underwhelmed by the content.

jonattonyeah its set at a different White Lotus location and features an all new cast. But agreed, it is a dumb idea. Should have let it be a stand alone thing.
Zackster wears Veja’s and Birkenstocks.
That’s all I’m saying.
I figured it would be very Marmite for many. Some of the nuances around privilege and how people communicate could be uniquely American. One of the reasons I didn’t bring up the show previously.

There were 2 funny bits in the first episode. And that gets a 9 out of 10.
Grotesque misuse of the rating system imo. In actual fact Zack should be banned from usuing this sytem for tv/films ever again.
I didn’t give it a 9 out of 10 ya loon.
jonattonyeah The rest of the world has a fair idea of Americans and their manerisms mate.
They arent exactly the uncontacted tribes of the Peruvian Amazon.
jonattonyeah Zack did
Yeah, fair. Guess I’m just trying to hedge as to why some might not like the show. I personally enjoyed it.
So we agree that it was a bit nuanced for Sean yeah? Shame on me for bringing HBO into a Netflix thread. Sean have you seen Ted Lasso?
I agree with Sean and haven’t watched it yet
Think Steve Zahn’s character might have hit a little too close to home
The Aussie resort manager steals the show. Hilarious
