jonattonyeah seanc80 I figured it would be very Marmite for many. Some of the nuances around privilege and how people communicate could be uniquely American. One of the reasons I didn’t bring up the show previously.
seanc80 jonattonyeah The rest of the world has a fair idea of Americans and their manerisms mate. They arent exactly the uncontacted tribes of the Peruvian Amazon.
seanc80 There were 2 funny bits in the first episode. And that gets a 9 out of 10. Grotesque misuse of the rating system imo. In actual fact Zack should be banned from usuing this sytem for tv/films ever again.
jonattonyeah seanc80 Yeah, fair. Guess I’m just trying to hedge as to why some might not like the show. I personally enjoyed it.
zackster So we agree that it was a bit nuanced for Sean yeah? Shame on me for bringing HBO into a Netflix thread. Sean have you seen Ted Lasso?
seanc80 zackster No ‘we’ dont agree Zack. What ‘we’ do agree on is that recomondations from you on comedy should be resoundingly rejected.
zackster alistair absolutely fantastic. What a spin on Basil Fawlty. Haven’t found an actor/performance I’ve enjoyed that much in quite some time.
303abuser i really liked white lotus, well written and didn’t drag on too long. there’s one detail that i didn’t really like and it’s a bit of an important one, but i don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t finished it yet.
