It really annoyed me how he kept using ‘glassed’ to mean the protagonist scanned the horizon through binoculars.
He uses this verb about 4 or 5 times. It just sounds stupid.
It also made me disappointed that Smallman may not have actually been pint-potted in Manchester, but rather simply watched through some binoculars.
