  • Dave's Classic Commercial CD Listening Club

Phil-McRackin I saw Healy wipe his coke and snot encrusted nose with a towel and then throw it into the crowd at Sugar Shack. I imagine someone has a shoebox at home with a septum stained beer towel they bring out at parties.

Bit like Sean and Matty Holland’s shorts.

Smallman1 Never used to put the Doris’ off. He has been through more models than project runway.

alistair Mid 90’s his cock must have resembled a grated carrot.

LT42 Dave’s Graeme Park jokes should be carbon dated

      It’s not a joke. It’s an observation.

How that cunt has been earning a living beyond the early 90s is beyond me.

hugopal Just realised that you didn’t include Jam & Spoon ‘Stella’ (Nalin & Kane Remix) in that?!

Plenty of tracks suitable for inclusion. I remember that particular one being on a lot of compilations at the time (actually since the mid ’90s), though, so didn’t bother.

bosstrabs He know his market is 40+ acid house oldies who love to get out once in a blue moon for those old school reunions. Bet the cunt is loaded.

He looks like he lives in a shack by the beach, think I saw him in the film ‘Bait’

bosstrabs ok, though the same criteria could have also been applied to ‘Happiness Happening (Lange Remix)’.

The other track I’d have picked out from that comp was Marino S ‘Vision Control’, though I appreciate it’s a bit less obvious.

hugopal ok, though the same criteria could have also been applied to ‘Happiness Happening (Lange Remix)’.

It was just intended as a talking point (like this) really, or to encourage people to check out a mix they may not know of.

I will be posting mixes that are heavy on the cheese in this thread. With a smattering of respectable choons thrown in as well. Expect that to be reflected in the selection of mixes and tunes.

Is this a guilty pleasures thread? Let’s be honest, who didn’t love Energy 52 (three in one), Y traxx, for an angel and binary finary the first few times they heard them in a club. Massive moments when you are a young clubber. When you compare these formative tunes to Calvin Harris and Avicii for today’s kids, you know you were in the right place at the right time

bosstrabs I can’t find it anywhere, but he did a mix in the early 2000s and had stuff like the Chems - Nude Night on it and it was decent. Think he was good until the whole retro Hac thing came along.

alistair Is this a guilty pleasures thread?

Not really. More me digging through a crate of old CD compilations to listen to and posting up here what I am listening to. To reminisce.

The irony of Crasher Dave having a pop (most days) @ Graeme Park is a sweet one.

One might almost think he’s fishing.

Whilst Dave was hugging strangers listening to Armin Van Buuren and other such monstrosities at Godskitchen, the cool kids were listening to Layo & Bushwacka and the like at The End.

At least I knew how to buy and work a kettle at the age of 19.

Smallman1 it’s painful to think that once upon a time I might have been unwittingly partying alongside Ed.

                        Brothers in arms Hugo!
