SM001 Horses for courses I guess. What Nick excels at is sequencing tracks that keep a floor rocking. In my 35-odd years of dancing in clubs, I’ve never had a bad night with him on the decks. Compare that to Sasha (who I’ve seen CLEAR a dancefloor - Gardening Club early 90s epic house bollocks) and Digweeds snoreathons in the early 00s and I know who gets my vote as a reliable DJ. For me, when I’m out and on one, the technical mixing element is the third least important element, behind selection and programming.

Echo Warren was at his best when he was resident in the annexe at Cream and making quality GU/Renaissance comps at the turn of the millennium. So following that logic, how has becoming a smoother mixer made him a better DJ? If being a smooth mixer was the key to a dj’s success, half the djs on here would have the same touring schedule he had
